Mohammad Ali may not be the legendary boxer, but he shares the same grit, perseverance, and heart. A seasoned Mixologist and Flair Bartender with over 20 years in the industry, Ali has evolved from a curious young waiter at a beach shack in Palolem to one of India’s most respected voices in bartending and bar consultancy.

His journey began when a chance encounter with flair bartending sparked his passion for the craft. Determined to learn, he studied at IHM Goa and went on to train under Shawn D’Souza — one of India’s finest flair bartenders and founder of Bar Square Academy. This mentorship refined Ali’s skills, strengthened his discipline, and ignited the creative edge that defines his work today.

Over the years, he participated in — and won — several bartending competitions, mastering not just flair but also the history, chemistry, and artistry of cocktails.

With a career spanning both five-star hotels and standalone bars, domestically and internationally, Ali’s role has grown far beyond the bar counter. He is an educator, brand trainer, recruiter, entrepreneur, liquid chef, and consultant, committed to elevating India’s bar culture.

In 2013, Ali founded The Mixologist – Academy of Bartending, now one of India’s premier bartending institutions. He also launched The Mixologist – One Stop Bar Solutions, a consultancy and event company delivering world-class bar setups and beverage experiences. His entrepreneurial vision further expanded with The Snowman Closet (India’s pioneer in crafted clear ice), Crisps & Craft (dehydrated garnishes), and Goan Nuts (customized shaved coconuts).

Recognized for his deep industry expertise, Ali is a founding member of the Indian Flair Bartenders Association (IFBA) and a jury member of the prestigious “30 Best Bars in India” awards.
